Mayur Suresh

Principal Investigator

Mayur is a Senior Lecturer in Law and has taught at SOAS since 2015. He holds a BA LLB (Hons) from National Law School of India, Bangalore (2004), an LLM from Columbia Law School (2006) and a PhD in law from Birkbeck, University of London (2017).

Lubhyathi Rangarajan

Research Fellow

Lubhyathi Rangarajan is a Research Fellow at SOAS. She holds a BA LLB (Hons) from Symbiosis Law School, Pune (2010) and an LLM from University of California, Berkeley School of Law (2013).

Sunil Pun

Project Manager

Sunil is responsible for overseeing the operations and activities of the project.  He completed MSc in Violence, Conflict and Development from SOAS, and undergrad is History/International Relations from Royal Holloway.

Fariya Yesmin

Postdoctoral Researcher

Fariya is a Post-Doctoral Researcher under the project since September 2023. She holds a PhD degree in Sociology from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi (2023).

Saumya Maheshwari

Doctoral Researcher

Saumya is currently pursuing her MPhil/ PhD at SOAS. Her research focuses on statutory restraints on inter-faith marriages in India. She is interested in using the ethnographic method to understand how inter-faith couples navigate these restraints to establish valid marital relationships.

Raghavi Viswanath

Postdoctoral researcher

Raghavi Viswanath is a postdoctoral researcher in the Social Life of Law in Authoritarian Contexts project. She was previously a doctoral researcher in Law at the European University Institute in Florence.

Sagar Abraham Gonsalves

Doctoral Researcher

Sagar will be pursuing his MPhil/Phd at SOAS in the School of Law, Gender, and Media. His research focuses on anti-terror laws in India and how their use police freedom of association.  

Sagar completed his undergraduate studies from St. Xaviers College, Mumbai in Economics and History (2015).
