Sagar Abraham Gonsalves

Doctoral Researcher

Sagar will be pursuing his MPhil/Phd at SOAS in the School of Law, Gender, and Media. His research focuses on anti-terror laws in India and how their use police freedom of association. Sagar completed his undergraduate studies from St. Xaviers College, Mumbai in Economics and History (2015).

He then worked as part of the Gandhi Fellowship with three government schools in the Dungarpur district of Rajasthan where he worked on developing these schools through collaboration with the students, teachers, and community members.
 

Currently, he works as a project coordinator on a research project at SOAS which aims at investigating the reasons for the violence and community disharmony that broke out among the Indian diaspora in Leicester in 2022 and providing recommendations for community cohesion moving forward.
